Having reached the (almost) ripe old age of my mid-twenties, I am very aware of ‘Wedding Season.’ Left, right and centre, there’s no escaping happy couples planning their big day. Just last month, one of my closest friends got married and it was one of the most fun days I’ve had to date.
A wedding brings people together and is one of those great occasions where all of your friends are free at the same time – something that rarely happens any more. So, despite being a little scared that I’d reached the age where my friends start running off in white dresses, I have come to look forward to weddings.
There’s just one little thing though… What on earth do you wear to a wedding?? This had to be the biggest topic of discussion amongst my friendship group as the big day drew nearer. How formal? Can I wear white? Is this too sparkly?
I’m happy to say that we all managed to find something suitable to wear in time and I may be biased but I think we did alright.
What do you wear to a wedding?
Inspired by their recent content pack, I’ve teamed up with designer retailer, Farfetch, to bring you three great wedding outfit ideas to base your style upon. I’ll show you exactly how it’s done, using the latest designer collections and then translate the looks for the high-street.
Whether you love the classic look with clean lines, or you’re more about the print, there’s something for you within these three base outfits.
Take elements of colour from the print and match with your accessories.
If you’re keeping it simple, add interest with texture and shade.
A softly ruffled blouse is perfect wedding guest material. Keep your accessories unfussy for balance.
I hope you found a look that you’re drawn to for inspiration on creating your perfect wedding guest outfit. Let me know how you get on in the comments below. Have fun!
