Unless you’ve been keeping your eyes closed for the past few months, you will have noticed that embroidery is a huge trend right now. But even before this craze had begun, my talented friend Jade had been creating the most beautifully embroidered fashion items.
With an eye for colour and not afraid of a little sparkle, Jade has been perfecting her craft for years, resulting in the very exciting emergence of her new label, Girl with the Golden Locket.
Selling a range of hand-embroidered pieces as well as upcycled vintage clothing, Girl with the Golden Locket stands out from the rest with each item being completely unique and in her signature style. I love the ombré dyed knits with mix of beads and wool tapestry and I’m even tempted by one of her cute floral beanies with handmade pom poms – and I don’t even wear hats!
I’ve seen so many things on the highstreet that just seem to be copies of the shop next door and everyone begins to look the same. Jade’s pieces are more like collector’s items, taking up to 12 hours each to finish. You’ll definitely treasure and love what you’ve bought for years to come.
Find Girl with the Golden Locket on Etsy and this Christmas, shop her stall at Low Market in East London on the 7th of December, where you’ll find a range of upcycled vintage knits, hand painted leather jackets and embroidered sweatshirts and beanies amongst other crafts exclusive to the market stall such as scented vintage teacup candles.
